Is inspired by the cinematography and lighting and romance of the Hollywood films of the 1930’s and 40’s and the work of the humanist photographers of the 50’s and 60’s such as Brassai, Riboud, Capa and Doisneau.
Combining both influences to create a style of portraiture and image making that is reminiscent of the past but firmly in the present and always looking to create an emotional connection between subject and the camera.
Lighting plays a key part in everything that I do and probably in another life and time I would have pursued the art of cinematography as I find nothing more beautiful than to appreciate the combination of light and composition to create mood and emotion.
Years of experience working with notable creative talent from the worlds of music, acting, fashion and art, such as Sir Paul McCartney, Jerry Hall, Will Young, Natalie Imbruglia, Pete Townsend and Poppy Delevigne, have helped Terry hone his exceptional interpersonal skills which have proved invaluable on set.
Leading to working with the quite extra ordinary, and utterly fabulous Dame Joan Collins, who really does prove that at 84, you really are only as old as you think you are.
